Theater Casino Zug

Von Süden kommend, bildet das Theater Casino in Zug den Auftakt zum Stadtzentrum von Zug. Während die Erweiterung aus der zweiten Hälfte des 20 Jh. durch das Licht der offenen Arkade auf sich aufmerksam machte, versank der historische Bau von 1909 in den Abendstunden im Schatten. Mit einer Fassadenbeleuchtung erhält der renovierte Bau wieder eine angemessene Präsenz.

Rund um das Casino befinden sich mehrere Kunstwerke, unter anderem eine Skulptur aus Cortenstahl von Oscar Wiggli, Syrinx (1985) und am Seeufer die Skulptur Knife Edge (1961) von Henry Moore.

Coming from the south, the Theater Casino in Zug forms the prelude to the city centre of Zug. While the extension from the second half of the 20th century attracted attention with the light of the open arcade, the historic building from 1909 sank into the shadows in the evening hours. The renovated building has been given a suitable presence again with facade lighting.  

Several works of art are located around the casino, including a sculpture in corten steel by Oscar Wiggli, Syrinx (1985) and, on the lakeside, the sculpture Knife Edge (1961) by Henry Moore.
